Lost or damaged goods

Freightshop takes every care with your goods.  Due to the remoteness of the Indian Ocean Territories we are obliged to use the available service to the Islands.  Invariably there is no choice and we are bound by their conditions of carriage.

If your goods are lost or damaged whilst we are handling them, we remain responsible and are insured.

Once the goods leave our control we cannot and will not be responsible for loss or damage.  There are several handlers in the chain of control after Freightshop.  These can be the Cargo Terminal Operator in Perth, the Company responsible for loading the aircraft, the Airline itself and the people unloading the aircraft.  If your goods are lost or damaged YOU MUST NOTIFY US IMMEDIATELY.  MOST GROUPS WHO HANDLE YOUR FREIGHT REQUIRE A WRITTEN CLAIM TO BE LODGED WITHIN SEVEN DAYS.

Failure to act promptly may mean any claim will be rejected.  We will do all we can to assist your claim should the evidence be that another party was responsible.

IF YOUR CARGO IS EXPENSIVE YOU SHOULD INVESTIGATE INSURING THE GOODS YOURSELF.
